TaxReady Books holds financial records and information about the people connected to a business. We collect only what is needed to provide the service, support accounts, secure access and meet legal obligations.

Information we collect

  • Account details such as name, email address, password hash, sign-in history and assigned roles.
  • Business settings and bookkeeping records entered or imported by authorized users.
  • Customer, supplier and employee details that a business chooses to record.
  • Technical error, security and audit records needed to protect the service and explain changes.
  • Messages voluntarily sent through support, feedback or advisory-review channels.

TaxReady does not ask for online-banking credentials and does not store uploaded statement files. Statement parsing happens in the browser; the reviewed rows and their source metadata are stored when the user stages them.

Visits to our public pages

On the public pages (not inside your books) we count visits anonymously: which page, how long it was on screen, how far it was scrolled, whether the sign-up button was clicked, the site or ad campaign that linked to it, and whether the screen is phone-sized. We do not use cookies for this, do not record IP addresses, and do not link a visit to a person. Your browser keeps a random visit number for the current tab, and the campaign you first arrived from for 30 days, so that if you create an account we can record which campaign brought you. Page-visit records are deleted after 90 days.

Why we use it

We use personal information to provide and secure accounts, maintain books and reports, deliver requested documents, answer support questions, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and improve the product. We do not sell personal information or use bookkeeping records for behavioural advertising.

Service providers and processing location

TaxReady uses contracted infrastructure and email providers to operate the service. Those providers may process information outside Canada, where it can be subject to local law. We remain responsible for personal information under our control and limit providers to the work needed to operate TaxReady.

Retention and deletion

Business records remain while the organization keeps its account, subject to legal and operational requirements. An owner can export the organization and permanently delete it from within TaxReady. Deleting it also deletes its saved restore points. Deleted information may remain in encrypted disaster-recovery backups of the whole service for up to 30 days before those backups expire.

Security and breaches

We use access controls, organization-level authorization, encrypted transport, secure session cookies, audit records, rate limits and encrypted backups. No system is risk-free. We maintain a response process and will notify affected people and regulators when required.

Your choices and rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, withdraw optional consent or raise a privacy concern. Organization owners can export and delete their business data in the application.
